photo of Rev. Natalie BlakeRev. Natalie E. Blake has served as pastor of the First Congregational Church of East Baldwin since 2008 and was ordained at the church in May 2010. Since coming to the East Baldwin Church, Rev. Blake has consistently demonstrated her love of Christ, her love of Christ’s people and her love of the surrounding community.

In the past five years, she has led the church in their first Homecoming Sunday.  She also led the church in their first Recognition Sunday for Firefighters and EMT’s. Under her leadership, the church joined with four other area churches, fire companies, civic groups, Junior ROTC and the community in a Celebration of Remembrance for the 10th Anniversary of 9/11.

Rev. Blake believes in reaching out to the community and is an advocate for interfaith and ecumenical services along with use of social media including a Facebook page and a new website for getting the word out about what the church is doing; while continuing to get the word out in the local newspaper, “The Weekly Shopping Guide.” She also believes in teaching and helping believers to be all that God intends for them to be and offers Bible Studies for all levels, often combining with area churches.

Rev. Blake is active in the Association of Congregational Christian Churches and in January 2013, accepted the position of Ambassador for the Western Region. This has given her an opportunity to visit area churches and get acquainted with other pastors and their congregations – an exciting and fulfilling adventure in Faith.

In her journey to pastoral ministry, Rev. Blake was first called to nursing and served in office nursing, operating room, Delivery Room, Epidemiology. Camp Nursing and Epidemiology before retiring from Nursing in 2009. She is a 1966 graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry , a 2003 graduate of the University of Southern Maine with a Master of Science in Adult Education and a 2010 graduate of Bangor Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts degree specializing in Pastoral Practices.
